Why Me?

Over the past few months, two people have spoken this word into my life, Resilient.
I didn’t take notice to this until the second person told me and then I became curious. What does it mean to be resilient? I fled straight to Google to find out.
According to Oxford Languages, it means the following:
(of a person or animal) able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions.
Want to know the first words that stuck out to me? RECOVER and DIFFICULT. My initial thoughts were, why do I always have to be the one to recover from something hard? Why can’t my processes be easy and not come with much stress? Why would someone tell me I am resilient, if they knew this to be the definition? I thought about this for about 5 minutes, and then, Holy Spirit nudged me and told me, the ability to recover quickly is a blessing, because not all people do. Depending on where one’s life has journeyed, and how they responded to it, recovery doesn’t always happen. Or some may be fighting so hard in life, that they hadn’t yet realized, they have recovered all; what was meant to destroy them, DIDN’T.
I’ve had to recover from failed relationships that appeared to be authentic, but were really artificial.
I’ve had to recover from taking loss after loss with career paths that I’ve desired.
I’ve had to recover from being my own worst critic and not pursuing dreams because I didn’t believe in myself.
I’ve had to recover from being sincerely wrong in moments that I thought I was right.
On the other side of recovery, I acknowledge that it’s not something I had to do, but it’s something I NEEDED to do. Recovering does not mean that you’re a lost cause. It means that you’ve got fight in you, to get back to who you’ve been all this time.
RECOVERY
-a return to a normal state of health, mind, or strength.
-the action or process of regaining possession or control of something stolen or lost.
(Definition from Oxford Languages)
Just like those definitions you just read, you are returning to your normal state of health, mind and strength. You are regaining control over what was once lost or stolen within you as a person. Life has a way of making you feel that you will never get where you desire to be. The challenges, pit stops and obstacles are sometimes too great for others to bare, but for others, they keep fighting (recovering).
I am encouraged and now my view on being a resilient woman has shifted. I’m not someone who had to recover, I’m someone who chose recovery as my victory. It’s my statement to myself that I won’t give up, and no matter what I face, it’s only UP because recovering all is the only option!
I pray this encouraged you to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Pursue inner healing for yourself, continue to grow as a person, with God. Watch your life grow a garden where it was once dry soil.
We are still here and WE ARE RESILIENT!

Thank you for sharing! I’d love to see more dialogue on social media. Your willingness to be vulnerable and open speaks volumes. People have said they see me as tenacious. Similar to resilience it’s a choice to persevere in the face of opposition. Courageous even when the odds of success seem slim. When the journey becomes difficult we have the will power and focus to work until the vision comes to fruition. In my opinion those that have this mindset whether they fully know it or not have the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling within. Listening to downloads of the blueprint is essential to planning the work and working the plan.
